Well prepared book full of easy to prepare Paleo dishes, October 12, 2015

‘The Paleo Cookbook for Entertaining’ prepared by Anne Wolfinger in nicely presented overview presents 45 Paleo recipes that will help reader to lose weight still having enough energy and necessary ingredients for our body to go through the whole day.

The book is divided into seven chapters each discussing one type of recipes:
    1. Breakfast and Brunch Recipes
    2. Side and Salad Recipes
    3. Chicken Entrees
    4. Beef Entrees
    5. Seafood Entrees
    6. Vegetarian Entrees
    7. Dessert Recipes

Also, as an introduction, the author explains Paleo Diet emphasizing that turning Paleo isn’t “going on a diet” as such but more of a lifestyle change. Eating like a cave(wo)man in the 21st century takes some serious willpower and commitment what with all the convenient and tasty foods out there, the range of which we have never seen before.

For each of included recipes, author on single page provides ingredients and easy to follow instructions for preparation which in the end resulted with 82 pages full of helpful advices that will make your diet easier to go through.

What is important to emphasize is that all of recipes included within are easy to prepare using everyday ingredients that you already have or can easily find in nearest market, not troubling ourselves with some exotic stuff difficult to obtain.

What may be seen as space for improvement is lack of pictures that could make this book even more appealing for those who love to see the final result of recipe.

Overall, ‘The Paleo Cookbook for Entertaining’ is short though well-prepared book full of easy to prepare Paleo dishes that will provide you with opportunity to increase your energy level and speed up the metabolism enabling better results of your diet.

Excellent Cookbook – not just for entertaining, but everyday meals, October 8, 2015

This review is from: Paleo: The Paleo Cookbook for Entertaining: 45 Paleo Recipes to Savor and Share While Sticking to Your Paleo Diet (Kindle Edition)
The Paleo Cookbook for Entertaining by Anne Wolfinger has 45 wonderful recipes that you can share with your friends and guests, without worrying about you – or their – munching on undesirable snacks. Each recipe is designed to share with others, while sticking to a healthy Paleo diet.

Glancing through the book at all the wonderful recipes and ingredients is enough to set my mouth watering. Indeed, virtually all the recipes are easy and taste terrific. The author has included recipes for virtually every occasion, from breakfast to side dishes, chicken, beef and seafood entrees, to wonderful and scrumptious dessert recipes. There’s even a section for vegetarian entrees, which provides tasty dishes that can serve as dinners or side dishes.

While I haven’t tried all the recipes, I truly savored the Strawberry and Basil Salad with Scallops, the Superfood Salad, Thai Style Curry and the Steamed Salmon and Homemade Pesto. I definitely look forward to fall, because I definitely want to make the author’s Chicken and Leek Soup.

The author tends to use the best vegetables for us in her recipes, including cabbage, broccoli, eggplant, mushrooms and cauliflower. She also lists the servings for each recipe and, more importantly, the calories per serving.

The best part of this cookbook, for me, was the author’s introduction and explanation of the Paleo diet. As Anne Wolfinger points out, there’s “dieting” (a strict eating/exercise plan) such as found in her earlier release, The HCG Diet Quick Start Cookbook), and then there’s “diet” (a daily eating plan designed to keep you healthy). Her explanation for being on a diet plan for everyday eating made lots of sense to me, and gave me more incentive to stay on such a diet. I appreciated the lists of Paleo diet banned foods and allowed foods, and being older, I definitely need to stay away from those snack foods that raise blood pressure and add fat. More fiber, more protein and less fat is definitely the way to go.

In short, I loved the tasty recipes and the common sense diet information Anne Wolfinger provides. Her Paleo Cookbook for Entertaining is a source I’ll turn to for everyday meals, not just for when we have guests.

Please note that a review copy was provided to me by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
