    Honestly, I was in search of a cookbook with basic recipes and full-colored pics of what the resultant meal should look like (sometimes, the name of a meal isn’t as appetizing as the picture and you’re more inclined to give it a try if you can see it). I’m not a hardcore dieter or foodie and therefore, I don’t stock nori sheets, almond butter, raw cashews…etc. I don’t shop at the local ‘good earth’ supermarket-type chains either; I wanted some basic ‘salt-and-pepper’ (sea-salt and cracked-pepper) recipes and meal-plans that I could follow as a jump start to a healthier lifestyle. I understand that this is supposed to be a non-gmo, non-factory-raised, anti-sugar and anything-processed diet; however, for the average person trying to stick to a 4-week meal regimen, this is on the high maintenance side. To be fair, the book does give you warning to empty your pantry and start over with the ingredient list they recommend and there are a few quick recipes. If I were a stay-at-home wife or independently wealthy, I suppose I could spend the time collecting the proper pantry items, soak (for 8 hours) and throw some raw almonds/walnuts into the old dehydrator, make my own sausage and then prepare the meals at my leisure. I’m not saying they’re not any good, but Horchata Ice Pops? REALLY? The title of the book is Paleo for Every Day and this may be so (for some), but it is clearly not Paleo for the regular, middle class, working person with other responsibilities, interests and pursuits outside of whipping up Mustard-Crusted Chicken Thighs and Garlicky Greens. But don’t mind me, clearly I’m in the minority here in terms of my assessment of this particular book. Fortunately, I purchased another Paleo Cookbook and it is much more relatable to this mere mortal.

    Let me start with the good. I found the recipes to be interesting and even exciting. It’s exciting to realize you can eat healthy, BE healthy, without compromising taste in the process. The 4 week breakdown and meal plan inside this book is really helpful for those just beginning the commitment of paleo. However, the book as a whole is not the best one to START with. It doesn’t go into enough detail about the diet, the process, or the effects on the body. I believe this book to be a solid source for those looking into or beginning paleo, but I do believe it should be coupled with a more detailed source for those unanswered questions and slightly vague information.

    If you don’t know anything about the Paleo ways then here is a great Paleo 101, if you will. This is a good book if you’re not sure about the Paleo diet because if you follow it through for the entire four weeks or less, you’ll get a very good idea what a Paleo menu looks like. The benefits of this diet are laid out very clearly in the first half of the book and the second half offers the 4 weeks of recipes. One great feature: the recipe titles are linked in the Kindle version so you can hop to that page. Shopping lists are even provided to help you get started on the plan. The book also answers the question about the difference between Paleo and gluten-free, since they resemble each other. The recipes look delicious and seem simple and straightforward.

    Paleo diet plan is good for people having weight problems, autoimmune disorders or other varying ailments. It has been a proven effective diet plan, because it does not only help you physically but as well as for your mental improvement. This book will teach you the basics of Paleo diet and how can it help you especially if you’re suffering from specific ailments. It contains tips for men and women, how much should be your calorie intake daily. It even includes a 7 days meal and recipe plan. It contains daily menu from breakfast to lunch. It also has delicious Paleo recipes that made me crave as I read on!

    I found this book very informative and well-explained especially for Paleo diet beginners. The ingredients and directions are stated formally so you will not get confused in cooking the menus. Such a commendable and a must have book for people who wish to have a healthy lifestyle!

    I’ve been Paleo for over 5 months now and it really is a life changer. I found out early on my journey that if you don’t know what to eat or how to make meals interesting you are far more likely to fall off the wagon. I have few paleo diet plan books and just recently got this one. This one is very, very good and has gotten me to think about food combinations and recipes that the other books haven’t. It’s amazing how something as simple as having a weekly meal plan takes a lot of anxiety and guess work out of eating. No more last minute meals and realizing your out of a certain ingredient. This book has been very valuable to my on going paleo lifestyle.
